Hawaiian Chicken Casserole:
Tender chicken, smoked turkey, caramelized pineapples, spicy ginger and creamy bachemel, is there any chance this could go wrong?!!! ;-)))
Girls, I admit I never cooked with pineapples before but now that I have, I don't think I'll ever stop! :D
Its sweetness is the PERFECT complement to strong flavors and spices and you can not no fall in love with the taste! :)))))
Ingredients
1 kg boneless chicken breasts, cubes
1 1/2 cups smoked turkey, cubes
1 1/2 cups pineapples (fresh or canned), cubes
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
A pinch nutmeg
1 tsp grated fresh garlic
Salt & pepper
Oil & butter
For the Bechemel Sauce
1/4 cup flour
1/2 litter milk
1 cup cream'
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Salt & pepper
Butter
Some cheddar cheese foe the top
Directions
Add oil and butter to your cooking pan and saute your chicken in it. Season with paprika, garlic powder, black pepper and the fresh ginger and leave it to cook completely. Half way through the cooking process add the pineapples and turkey. Remove the mixture from the cooking pan into your baking dish and in the same pan add 1 tpsp butter and when it melts add the flour and wisk it into the butter and the pan oils very well. Leave the flour for few minutes to cook out the starchy taste of it and then add your milk and spices. Whisk very well until your sauce is smooth and bring to a boil to help it thicken, add the cream and let it cook for a could more minutes and then remove from heat and poor all over your chicken mixture. Sprinkle some cheddar cheese (or any other cheese) on the top and enter the over to bake. Bake it on high heat just until the bachamel is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
